Obituary of Janice Lee Miller
Janice Lee Miller, 54 , of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on Friday September 13, 2024.
Janice L. Miller (née Chancy), 54, of Pensacola, Florida, passed unexpectedly from this life into eternal rest on September 13, 2024.
Born on June 20, 1970, in Tallahassee, Florida, Janice was a woman of remarkable character and spirit, whose voice was as melodious as her heart was kind.
Throughout her professional journey in the medical field, Janice was a beacon of comfort and care.
Her tenure as a phlebotomist at HCA Florida West marked the beginning of a noble path,
which she walked with dedication as an RN at Ascension Sacred Heart and later at Baptist Hospital,
where she served with distinction as a night weekend charge nurse in the OR.
The roll Janice found the most rewarding was being a mom to her boys, Dylan & Cole.
They alone were the ultimate joy in her life.
The quick witted banter between them was penomenal to watch as was the love that enveloped them as a family.
Janice was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pensacola, FL.
Her hobbies, which included rescuing nearly any animal that crossed her path, crochet, reading, singing, and collecting dragonflies and gnomes,
were a testament to her joyful approach to life and her capacity for bringing smiles to the faces of those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Dylan and Cole Miller; her sister & best friend,
Cheryl (Bill) Hempfleng; her nephew, Logan Hempfleng; her father, L. James Chancy; and her dear friend, Candace.
Janice was preceded in death by her mother, Faye Lisk; her nephew, Hylar Hempfleng; her grandparents,
Thelma and Lawrence Dorrough, Ruth Darsey; and her stepmother, Beverly Chancy.
A celebration of Janice's life will be held at a date to be announced, allowing family and friends to gather and remember her legacy of love and service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to NW Florida Great Dane Rescue, Life Quest Organ Donation, or Vitas Hospice in her memory.
Special thanks to the CCU staff at HCA FL West for their compassionate care of Janice and to the LifeQuest transplant team.
In a final act of selflessness, Janice's organ & tissue donations saved upwards of two dozen lives.
Janice was so loved & will be forever missed. Fly high, Boo.
The Christian Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, FL is handling the arrangements with dignity and care.
Janice's departure leaves a void in our hearts, but her memory will forever be cherished.
